IQIS Database FAQ

There is no publications link on my IQIS People page. How do I get one there?
If you are missing the publications link and are in need of one, ask the webmaster to put one there.

Can I have a personal website on IQIS?
Yes, by default everyone has a webpage on IQIS. Ask the webmaster for instructions on how to get there. A link can also be put on the main site (under People), along with links to biographies, research interests, etc.

I've just created an author, funding agency or conference that shouldn't be there - how do I get rid of it?
Currently the only way to delete any of these things is to ask the person in charge of the database.

What exactly is DOI?
The home page of DOI can be found here. This page includes an overview, FAQ and numerous other resources.

Which presentation attributes are appropriate for which situations?
poster: select this if a poster was being presented.
plenary: select this if the presentation wasn't limited to a specific topic/group at a conference.
keynote: a special presentation; it should be indicated to you.
invited: select this if you were invited to the event.
contributed: select this if none of the above are applicable.
refereed: select this if the publication was refereed (usually indicated by the journal or conference).

I've accidentally created something, and now I can't delete it! What should I do?
Don't panic! If you've created a bad entry in: You will not be able to delete it. However, there are still ways to fix it. If you have another entry of the same type that you still need to enter, edit the bad entry to match the new one you have to put in (eg. if you create a duplicate author and you still have one to add, change the duplicate). The other option is to e-mail the database administrator and ask him/her to delete the entry.
